YLink Encourages All to Love Your Lungs

The Clay Center Community High School Chapter of Youth Leaders in Kansas (YLinKS) will be holding the Fifth Quarter after the basketball games on Friday, January 7th. All CCCHS students are encouraged to attend this event held in the CCCHS Gym until 11:00.

The theme for the event will be "Love Your Lungs." That night, Respiratory Therapist Ronda Rosenquist will inform students about the effect vaping and smoking tobacco and marijuana have on your lungs. Students will then participate in an open gym and games that require strong lungs including a balloon blowing relay race, a bubble gum bubble blowing contest, and an outdoor bubble fest.

All those attending will be treated to free cheesy chili baked potatoes courtesy of Wendy's. Students will also have the chance to take the "Love Your Lungs Pledge" by signing a pledge card that states: I Pledge to Love My Lungs By Not Vaping or Smoking" Pledge cards will be placed in drawing for small prizes at the Fifth Quarter, as well as a grand prize drawing on February 15th for $100 courtesy of United Bank and Trust.

The CCCHS Chapter of YLinKS is sponsored by the Clay Counts Coalition. To learn how you can support YLinKS or sponsor an event, contact Community Mobilizer Lori Martin at the Clay County Health Department.
